A heart full of flowers, fragrant all the way

As the dusk loomed over the blue tiles and white walls, the silhouette of roses on the windowsill overlapped with the silk threads in the painting. Suddenly, I understood that every rose was a badge of time engraved on the fabric of time. Roses emerged from the canvas, weaving fragrant webs with thorny tenderness and lingering vines in the human world, capturing the spring breeze, sunset glow, and the tiny moments hidden in the folds.

The roses in the painting never appear in a single form. Some climb up the bamboo frame and grow upwards, with the edges of the petals shining with the luster of mother of pearl shells, resembling the hem of a girl's skirt raised when she tiptoes to pick stars; Some of them hang on the bluestone board, with deep red petals dipped in imaginary morning dew, as if they will roll into the viewer's palm in the next second; Some bloom alone under the moonlight, with light purple petals translucent like cicada wings, and a Milky Way like shimmer flowing between veins. The painter uses gradient shades of pink, purple, crimson, and milky white to blend each petal, giving each petal a unique sense of breathing, as if one can see the gentle rhythm of roses swaying in the breeze.

The most touching thing is the vines of roses. They are not as solemn as the branches of peonies, nor as solitary and tall as the branches of plum blossoms, but carry a kind of unrestrained affection. The vines outlined with golden threads are winding and twisting, sometimes entwining into hearts, sometimes stretching into waves, weaving mysterious symbols on the canvas. In a painting called 'Corridor Fragrance Path', rose vines climb along the mottled corridor, forming a wonderful resonance with the moss on the green bricks. The sunlight shines through the gaps of the leaves, and the artist embellishes the entire painting with fine gold powder, enveloping it in a warm halo.

The use of color is even more poetic. Take the pink and white of the morning sun as the base color for the petals, render the edges of the petals with the purple of the evening, and then depict the vitality of the leaves with emerald green. Against a dark background, roses seem like stars blooming from the dark night, emitting a mysterious and enchanting glow. The painter also cleverly used the technique of leaving blank spaces, leaving gaps in the interlacing vines, allowing the viewer's gaze to freely shuttle, as if they were in a boundless rose garden.

The roses in the painting have a youthful vigor, a passionate bloom, and a serene beauty of withering, as if telling the story of different stages of life. Those thorny branches are not only armor to protect themselves, but also arms to embrace the world. In a painting depicting an old Shanghai alleyway, the mottled walls are covered in roses, and sunlight shines through the silhouette of a cheongsam woman on the petals, creating a nostalgic scene. The roses here are not only beautiful decorations, but also witnesses of time. They silently watch the people coming and going in the alley, weaving each story into their own vines.
